What is the Rady Children’s Auxiliary?
The Auxiliary works in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego and supports its mission through advocating for the health and well-being of children, increasing community awareness of the hospital, and fundraising.
Our goals in improving children’s health are achieved through camaraderie, collaboration, and fun. Members believe that knowledge, productivity, and community engagement are essential tools that help them succeed when working for the greater good.

On top of juggling full-time jobs or being in residency positions at local
hospitals, our unit seeks to support Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego through social activities, fundraising, and assisting at other Auxiliary
events as needed. Outside of our monthly meetings, we gather for special events like decorating the hospital for the holidays, hosting fundraising events, and throwing a birthday bash at the Bernardy Center.
As members of the Young Professionals Unit, we strive to collectively support and enrich each member’s personal development and encourage each member to continue their growth towards becoming a compassionate, responsible, and service orientated individual within our community.

FAQs
What are ways that the Young Professionals Unit helps out Rady Children’s?
We plan various in-unit and out-unit fundraisers that benefit departments at Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego. We also assist by making hospital bags for patient families, throw birthday parties for kids at The Helen Bernardy Center, play and read with kids at Alexa’s PLAYC (Playful Learning Academy for Young Children), and help with multiple campaigns that are put on by Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego (Make a Wish Campaign, Jersey Mike’s Month Of Giving to name a few).
How much of a time commitment is it to become a member of the Young Professionals Unit?
Our calendar year runs from September until June of every year. We take a hybrid approach to our meetings (in-person and zoom), but we strive to hold one meeting a month. We understand that everyone is busy with work and families, so as a volunteer we value whatever time you can give to the unit!
What are the membership fees?
Our membership dues are $55 annually. Payment plan options are available.
I’m interested but I have a few more questions. Who can I contact?
